ABOUT

Olivia Weber is a dancer and choreographer from Ann Arbor, Michigan, and a recent graduate of the University of Michigan, where she earned a degree in Dance with a minor in Performing Arts Management and Entrepreneurship. Throughout her undergraduate career, she performed in numerous senior capstone works and choreographed and performed her own work, Reflection Reclaimed. She also participated in the Department of Dance’s annual Power Center productions, collaborating closely with choreographers including Flockworks and Rosanna Tavarez. Her training spans both concert and commercial dance, allowing her to develop a strong technical foundation, an appreciation for process-driven and collaborative work, and a commitment to artistic integrity and creative expression.
Olivia is also a member of Dance 2XS Michigan, a pre-professional hip-hop company and one of four international chapters that foster a global community of dancers. Through the company, she has performed both on and off campus, earned a Golden Ticket to compete at World of Dance, trained in workshops with renowned dancers and choreographers such as Sean Lew and Marlee Hightower, and presented her choreography in the company’s annual performances. Following graduation, Olivia plans to pursue a professional career in commercial dance in Los Angeles, California. She is committed to expanding her commercial dance training at leading studios, including Millennium Dance Complex, Playground LA, Offstage Dance Studio, and Movement Lifestyle, while building meaningful connections within the industry and continuing to cultivate versatility, adaptability, and a growth-oriented approach to her craft.
Olivia’s creative and professional interests are rooted in choreography as a means of expressing her perspective and sharing ideas through movement. She is particularly interested in bridging commercial and concert dance, exploring how accessibility, athleticism, and narrative can coexist across genres. As an aspiring professional commercial dancer, she is drawn to work that is technically grounded, artistically rich, and culturally relevant. She is also interested in teaching and traveling as opportunities for global engagement, cultural exchange, and continued learning. Olivia views teaching and mentorship as powerful ways to inspire individuals and strengthen communities across generations, using dance as a platform to engage with broader conversations surrounding art, culture, and politics.
Beyond performance and choreography, Olivia has a strong interest in physical therapy, movement science, and business. Drawing from her own experiences with physical therapy, she hopes to strengthen dancers’ relationships with their bodies through injury prevention, rehabilitation, and education. She is passionate about advocating for sustainable training practices that prioritize longevity, self-awareness, and holistic well-being. As she pursues a career in commercial dance, Olivia remains committed to growing as a performer, choreographer, and educator, approaching movement as both an artistic and healing practice. Her work is guided by a dedication to technical excellence, collaboration, sustainability, and meaningful community impact.
